Summary:

Uncork the beauty of northern Italy on this 6- or 7-night adventure through the enchanting Prosecco region and the Asolo Hills. This tour is designed for those who savour the finer things in life: winding roads, historic towns, and the chance to toast every ride with a glass of the region’s world-famous Prosecco.

Spend your first days exploring the picturesque wine hills near Marostica and the storybook charm of Asolo, cycling through serene countryside dotted with olive groves and vineyards. Optional adventures include conquering the legendary Monte Grappa, with its stunning summit views, or unwinding in the vibrant heart of Bassano.

From there, the adventure shifts gears as you ride south through the Montello Hills and into the Prosecco region, where sparkling wine flows as freely as the winding roads. Discover Valdobbiadene’s iconic Osteria Senza Oste and take in the beauty of Conegliano, surrounded by vines as far as the eye can see.

End your journey by the tranquil lakes at the base of the Dolomites, or challenge yourself with the exhilarating San Boldo Pass, an engineering marvel carved into the mountains. Along the way, savour the region’s famed cuisine, local wines, and warm hospitality.

Whether you’re chasing climbs or soaking up the scenery, this is a journey of discovery, celebration, and connection—a true toast to Italy’s finest.

Itinerary

Arrival in Bassano del Grappa

Arrive in the charming riverside town of Bassano del Grappa, your home for the next few days. Depending on your flight, there’s time for an optional warm-up ride to ease into the rhythm of the Veneto. Or simply stroll the cobbled streets, soaking in the timeless charm of this cycling hub.

Through the Wine Hills to Marostica

Set off on a gentle loop ride to Marostica, a medieval gem known for its giant chessboard square. Glide past vineyards and olive groves, stopping for a quick coffee—or maybe a croissant. The rolling hills are kind, the views unforgettable, and the roads blissfully quiet.

Asolo and the Asolini Hills

Roll out of Bassano, crossing the iconic Ponte Vecchio, before hitting the rolling Asolini Hills east of the town. Ride into Asolo, and over its cobbled streets to our lunch spot, savouring the region’s rustic flavours. The winding roads around Asolo offer a cyclist’s dream, with panoramic views and smooth descents.

Monte Grappa or La Dolce Vita

Take on the legendary Monte Grappa, with or without the beauty of pedal-assistance. Either way, you’re guaranteed to feel a rewarding sense of achievement as you relax at the mountain-top restaurant at 1,775m. Alternatively, enjoy a day off the bike, exploring Bassano’s artisan shops, museums, or simply relaxing by the river.

Into the Prosecco Hills via Possagno

Bid farewell to Bassano as you pedal towards Possagno, home to the awe-inspiring Canova Temple. Then it’s over the Montello Hills, a patchwork of forest and farmland, before rolling into the Prosecco region. The scenery shifts here—vineyards as far as the eye can see and the promise of bubbles at every stop.

Valdobbiadene and the Osteria Senza Oste

Dive deeper into Prosecco country with a ride to Valdobbiadene, the heart of sparkling wine production. Visit the quirky Osteria Senza Oste, where vending-machine wine and breathtaking views are all part of the charm. Cycle onward to Conegliano, a town steeped in winemaking tradition, where every sip tells a story.

Lakes and the San Boldo Pass

Head for the tranquil waters of Lago and Santa Maria, nestled at the base of the mountains. Feeling adventurous? Take on the San Boldo Pass, a feat of engineering carved into the rock in just 100 days during World War I. The tunnels and switchbacks make for a ride as thrilling as it is beautiful.

One Last Spin or Relax and Depart

Squeeze in a final ride or simply savour a long breakfast overlooking the vines before it’s time to say arrivederci. You’ll leave with legs well-used, a heart full of memories, and maybe a bottle or two of Prosecco to relive the magic back home.
